Green Montessori School (GMS)

Usdiati Endah Purwati and Alhilal Hamdi always believe that education is the most wonderful contribution that they can provide for their beloved country, Indonesia.

In 2010, they started a school and named it as Green Montessori School (GMS). GMS has three main core philosophies: Islamic Values, Montessori, and Respect for Nature. They dream that GMS will not only be a school that can provide a joyful and prepared learning environment for its students through Montessori method, but will also foster children to spread Islam as Rahmatan Lil Alamin (blessing for the whole world and its content) by promoting peace and kindness to all His creations. GMS also becomes the only and first Authentic Montessori School which integrated Islamic Values and Respect for Nature in Indonesia.

Construction of GMS' permanent facility in Duren Tiga, in 2014

By mid-2014, GMS had expanded to 60 (sixty students). With the continued growth of enrolments, GMS decided to move to its current permanent facility in Duren Tiga Raya No. 133 starting January 19, 2015. By 2018, Green Montessori has served more than 250 families. The journey of chasing our dream is comprised of thousands of small details fuelled by our love toward Allah SWT and His creations.

We also thank the generous and dedicated support from our school communities: Green Montessori Foundation Board members, teachers, supporting staffs, parents, students, government officials, and our neighbourhood. We wish to collaborate with you to provide a meaningful education for young children of today and years to come — Inshallah.
